The record-smashing singer Taylor Swift made a rare public appearance Saturday to support the wedding of her longtime best friend, Abigail Anderson, in Martha's Vineyard, Mass.
Dressed in a burgundy floor-length gown, Swift played an important role in the ceremony, carrying the back of her bestie's gown as the bride entered Old Whaling Church in Edgartown to marry photographer Matt Lucier.
Taylor Swift's best friend since high school is mentioned in her song "Fifteen" from the 2008 album Fearless: "You sit in class next to a redhead named Abigail/ And soon enough you're best friends/ Laughing at the other girls/ Who think they're so cool/ We'll be out of here as soon as we can ... And Abigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed his mind/ And we both cried."
