As the opening of the 5th annual Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) draws nearer, excitement is in the air. In the presence of organizers from Dubai-based QnA International, Los Cabos in Mexico is preparing to welcome globally renowned wedding planners from over 70 countries over the next couple of days, for the opening of the DWP Congress on 10 April 2018.
Developed and organized for 5 consecutive years by QnA International, the DWP Congress is the only event of its kind that brings together wedding planners and suppliers from around the world under one roof and offers opportunities for one-to-one business meetings. This year, as with previous editions, the by-invite only event has organized an influential and power-packed line-up of speakers, and topics of discussion. “We are excited to be on the ground, and attend to the final touches of what is promising to be a wonderful event in this fabulous city. There is a definite electric charm about Los Cabos and we believe the serene beauty of the location, and the professional hospitality will be the perfect stimuli for an engrossing DWP Congress,” said Ackash Jain, Director, QnA International.
Mexico is a well-known tourist hotspot, attracting millions of visitors annually, undoubtedly because of its vibrant “Culture and history, as well as beautiful architecture, and magical white-sand beaches,” commented Jennifer Bassett, Co-founder, S & J Weddings, Canada. One of Mexico’s many tourist destinations is Los Cabos which boasts of magnificent landscapes and scenery, luxury accommodation and services, professional hospitality managers, and great climate. “The temperature is dry and sunny during the day which is ideal for wedding guests who seek exploratory and adventurous activities during the day. The temperature drops at night and is perfect for those lovely evening events. I have experienced picture-perfect weather every time I have organized a wedding there,” commented Jennifer Zabinski, Founder and President, Jennifer Zabinski Events, USA.
Indeed, Los Cabos is well known as a premier destination amongst wedding planners in the region and globally too. “Los Cabos is a destination with a lot of contrasts in unique landscapes from the desert with all its fun and night time glory to spectacular beaches; it is a true gem of Mexico,” said Ilse Diamant, Destination Wedding Specialist, Diamant Events, Mexico. Agreeing with this sentiment, Sharon Sacks, Founder, Sacks Production Inc., USA, exclaimed, “Los Cabos is the land of sun and fun!” “It offers so many incredible wedding locations, five-star hotels and incredible chefs to heighten the experience of our clients and their guests,” she continued.
Planning activities and getaways around the wedding are increasingly important as guests seek to combine a vacation and other activities during their stay. “A current trend in destination weddings is immersive experience and when this is combined with the wedding, the results are unique and memorable. For instance, at one of our weddings the guests were gifted tequila flasks in their welcome boxes inspired by Mexico’s ‘Day of the Dead’ and hand-carved into the shape of a skull by a local vendor. In this manner, guests and our clients experience the culture of the destination country while creating memories, and we work with local talent,” commented Zabinski.
“Reliable vendors, and several ceremony options are benefits to organizing a wedding in Mexico,” noted Sacks. And the “Suppliers and creative partners we collaborate with deliver phenomenal customer service,” added Zabinski. But this is not all, Mexico is also known for its scrumptious cuisine and through its vast experience in hospitality, can cater to any and all pallets. “There are very good local Indian caterers for South Asian weddings in Mexico, which is a huge benefit in addition to all-inclusive options, and flight connectivity,” added Sonal J. Shah, Founder, Sonal J. Shah Event Consultants, USA.
The 5th annual DWP Congress will highlight the trends, challenges, and discuss the currents of change in the industry from 10-12 April 2018 in Las Cabas, Mexico.
