According to the Daily Mail, Britain’s most senior family law judge said that divorce can be filed through an online service from next year.
Once this is possible, neither husband, wife, nor the judge will need to be in a courtroom.
After the couples have agreed to divorce, they will be asked to answer online questionnaires about their marital life, wealth and income, as well as arrangements made for their children.
Sir James Munby, president of the High Court’s Family Division said "the heaviest cases will of course continue to require the traditional gathering of everyone together in a court room… probably only for the final hearing".
Many people have opposed this decision because marriage will no longer have its true value, and divorce will be just one click away.
