The 2025 Jane Bridal Collection by Elisabetta Polignano
Elisabetta Polignano has released her 2025 bridal collection inspired by Jane Birkin.
Their icon is Jane Birkin, a non-conformist woman who influenced international fashion in the 70s with her unassuming unconventional and sensual essence, a romantic-Boho fashion that set trends then and continues to set them today.
Elisabetta Polignano “converses” with the artist; she recognizes herself in Jane’s disarming natural attitude, articulating it in her bridal-couture world, in her being a symbol of female freedom and emancipation, and in her unpretentious natural elegance, which Elisabetta now expresses in her bridal-couture world.
The actress-singer is the muse of an era that will never be forgotten … because the sophistication of the singer of “Je t'aime moi non plus” is - even today - untouched by the passing of time, the trends that alternate season after season: it remains unchanged, a modern presence, totally up-to-date in the collective imagination of style. For her 2025 collection, Elisabetta Polignano is inspired by the English artiste through her intellectual, historical, creative, virtual, and sartorial journey, which leads the designer to rediscover and revive Swinging London with its era-defining influences on fashion, music, and cinema.
Jane Birkin’s iconic wicker basket is reinterpreted for Elisabetta Polignano by the luxury accessories brand Pescepazzo Taormina. Hand-woven and covered in silk taffeta, it is adorned with ivory-colored ostrich feathers, matching sparkling decorations, and other wonderful fabrics and floral applications from the bridal world embellishing the handle, and other smaller details.
Elisabetta embarks on a sartorial journey, which looks at the style of the naturalized French actress and singer from a bridal point of view, where the features that have made the artist’s looks famous throughout the world are expressed on wedding gowns in Elisabetta Polignano’s pure couture style. Hence, the 60s and 70s are revisited in the 2025 collection through a tribute to a non-conformist, elemental, and unconventional artiste and icon, who made the detail of an outfit into a must-have that is still imitated today.
Lightness, softness, and a tribute to the concept of oversized with trapezoid shapes, skirts cinched at the waist, and wide-legged trousers with a pajama-palazzo touch that reconsider those incredible years in a contemporary bridal key. The exquisite capes – which are some of the collection’s most striking items – recount a “composed” minimalism in which Italian and French lace – much loved by the designer – become elements of that “handmade” approach that is simply pure couture. White, the leitmotif color of the entire collection, is combined with inlaid tulle, constructed lace, and cady fabric … but also features in the 70s-inspired romper-shorts - very Jane Birkin.
The Boho Cool style “launched” by Jane Birkin finds new expression in white dresses with structured, couture minimalism through lace and crochet work exuding a new romanticism that Elisabetta Polignano has revamped for today’s women: romantic but daring, with an arresting personality.
Transparency – the essence of the gowns - is merged with oversized proportions, bell-bottom trousers, and bell sleeves that alternate with classic models in Mikado that emphasize the designer’s love for this material, a fil rouge through all her collections.
