The Designer
Pinella Passaro is internationally recognized as one of Italy's foremost bridal and red carpet designers and for the past 30 years has led the Maison and atelier, founded in Cava de' Tirreni in the late 1800s from her grandmother. Her popularity in this field led her to become the first Italian wedding dress designer to have a constant and continuous presence on Italian national television, showing her fabulous dresses every week to millions of people. She also designs and creates the multiple award winner Red Carpet, an evening dress couture collection.
The History
The Passaro family started its activity in the trade of fabrics during the second half of the 19th century in a workshop in the medieval centre of Cava deì Tirreni, halfway from Naples and Amalfi. In the 1950s, the tailor’s shop is founded, where the love for precious cloth is turned into creativity. It was Gina, Pinella’s mother, the one who ran it at first. The workshops were then turned into boutiques with Pinella holding the reins of the company. She will soon launch one of the first Italian ateliers dedicated to Bridal Haute Couture, which will become one among the most important in the country in just few years. Along with this, 7 more ateliers and boutiques dedicated to woman fashion will see the light in the same area.
