Tina Turner and Erwin Bach's Wedding

In July 2013, legendary singer Tina Turner married her longtime partner, German music producer Erwin Bach, in a civil ceremony at the registry office in Kuesnacht, Switzerland. The couple, who had been together for 27 years, chose to celebrate their union with a lavish party at their lakeside estate, Chateau Algonquin, on the banks of Lake Zurich.
For the celebration, Tina Turner donned a striking green taffeta and black silk tulle gown adorned with Swarovski crystals, designed by her friend Giorgio Armani. She first spotted the gown at a fashion show in Beijing and knew it was perfect for her wedding. In a unique twist, she requested that all female guests wear white, while the men adhered to black tie attire.
The guest list included notable celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Bryan Adams, David Bowie, and Giorgio Armani. The couple's estate was adorned with approximately 70,000 red and yellow roses from Holland, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere. During the event, guests participated in a traditional Buddhist water blessing ceremony, reflecting Tina's long-standing Buddhist practices.
Tina Turner described this stage of her life as reaching "Nirvana," expressing a profound sense of happiness and contentment. She remarked, "It's that happiness that people talk about, when you wish for nothing, when you can finally take a deep breath and say, 'Everything is good.'"
