A 'Love Won' Indian Wedding in Ras Al Khaimah
Despite all odds, Aanchal and Roshan celebrated their marriage in a 3-day fun-filled colorful Indian wedding starting on 14 February 2021 at Double Tree by Hilton on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah.
This was no ordinary wedding planning! Vivaah Weddings, who planned and managed the wedding, pulled off all strings in the middle of the pandemic, making sure that the couple and their guests celebrate love in style.
Travel restrictions, numerous permits, COVID testing for all guests and vendors, safety and hygiene procedures, last minute changing regulations... did not deter the team's persistence and dedication to put on 5 different events for 250 guests, of whom nearly half flew in from India to attend the wedding.

Welcome Dinner
An intimate, romantic and memorable dinner was held on Valentine's Day setting the perfect mood for the upcoming celebrations.
Immediate family members attended the welcome dinner of Aanchal and Roshan overlooking the Arabian Gulf. The venue was lit by gorgeous string lights and decorated with soft drapes in shades of red. Roses were handed out to all the ladies to accent their beautiful attires and customized drink pins on glasses in the guests' names added a warm personalized touch and detail that was appreciated by the guests.
An Afternoon Mehendi
The outdoor Mehendi event brought all the fun of an Indian Mela (Indian Carnival) to the celebration, with a truck bar, traditional Indian prints and vibrant colours. A funky photo booth with a vintage scooter and an umbrella backdrop with instant prints was the highlight of the event.
The bride and groom made a fun entry with their friends with colour bombs, which was certainly an attention grabber, and one that made for some excellent photographs.
With henna artists, Tarot Card reader, a funtakshri by The Wedding Anchor - Junaid, Kulfi Stations, quirky sayings and generous giveaways, this Mehendi afternoon couldn’t get more Indian than this!
Sangeet Evening
The Mehendi afternoon was followed by a starry night-themed Sangeet evening done in style... from the exceptional catering by Foodlink, to the beautifully lit cabanas and a split screen for a surprise couple entry ... It was an evening the couple will cherish for a lifetime.
Last minute revisiting of the drawing board for the Sangeet evening due to evolving COVID restrictions, settled on moving the gorgeous event into the ballroom.
The evening started with a romantic ring ceremony where the couple exchanged rings and followed by performances by friends and family. Music by the amazing DJ Lemon and customized cocktails and drinks were some of the highlights of the spectacular Sangeet.
The Pheras and Reception Dinner
After 6 months of planning and tension-filled days induced by the pandemic, the bride could finally fulfil her dream and unbox her Sabyasachi Lehenga - every Indian bride's dream!
Aanchal chose to go traditional in a gorgeous statement lehenga designed by India's most notable bridal fashion designer - Sabyasachi. In bright red and heavy Indian jewelry, Aanchal looked every bit the elegant Indian bride!
The Pheras were set to a fading sun on a gold mandap overlooking the Arabian Sea. Serene and elegant was the tone of the evening, with mantras playing in the background. The moment of the Jaimala exchange was done with a flower petal blast and captured like a dream sequence in a Bollywood Movie.
The reception dinner that followed was an elegant affair set in hues of gold and blush, with gold canopies over dining areas and the amazing soulful voice of a background singer filling the venue.
The After Party
A fitting end to the wedding celebrations; the after party saw the newlyweds enter through a tunnel with their friends holding sparklers and straight on to the dance floor, dancing their way into their happily ever after.
