Jordanian Officials and Wedding Industry Professionals Welcome DWP to Jordan
Jordanian officials and wedding industry professionals express their enthusiasm and optimism as they react to the exciting news that DWP 2025 will be hosted in Jordan.
One of the world’s strongest B2B platforms for the destination wedding industry, the Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) Congress will be taking place in Aqaba, Jordan from 7 to 9 October 2025. The event will officially be hosted by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in partnership with the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB).
Aqaba will be the melting pot of cultures in October 2025 welcoming the greatest patrons from the luxury destination wedding industry from across the globe.
With the announcement of the partnership and upon winning the bid to host the DWP Congress in 2025, Mr. Nayef Al Fayez, the Chief Commissioner of ASEZA says: "We are thrilled to be associated with the DWP brand and QNA International. The DWP Congress is a globally recognized platform that gathers the most influential minds and businesses in the destination wedding industry. Partnering with such a prestigious event and its organizers not only elevates Aqaba’s and Jordan’s profile as premier wedding destinations, but also provides us with an opportunity to collaborate and learn from industry leaders, further enhancing our offerings".
Mr. Nayef Al Fayez is a seasoned figure in Jordan's tourism sector, having served as the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities multiple times. His most recent tenure concluded in December 2022, after serving from October 2020.
"Jordan, and especially Aqaba, offers a combination of natural beauty, history, and luxury that is unmatched. We brought the DWP Congress to Jordan to highlight Aqaba as a prime destination for weddings, where couples can experience the majestic Red Sea, the serene beauty of the desert in Wadi Rum, and the timeless wonders of Petra. Hosting the DWP Congress in Aqaba allows us to position Jordan as a top-tier location for weddings and luxury events on the global stage" adds Mr. Fayez.
The wedding industry in Jordan is delighted to welcome DWP to the country and recognizes the long-term benefits of attracting wedding industry leaders to experience firsthand what Jordan has to offer.
"After traveling with DWP across the world since 2016 and being participants, speakers, and advisory board members, we couldn’t be more thrilled to finally see the DWP Congress come to our beautiful city, Aqaba, in Jordan. Our country offers an unparalleled blend of natural beauty, rich history, and exceptional hospitality, making it a truly unique destination for weddings. We are excited to highlight the beauty of Jordan and introduce our colleagues to the endless possibilities that make it an exceptional choice for weddings", said Majeda & Sewar Bisharat, Co-Founders of MY Event Design.

"Aqaba and Jordan offer a treasure trove of unique wedding experiences. Whether it’s a beachfront ceremony on the shores of the Red Sea, a romantic celebration under the stars in the enchanting desert of Wadi Rum, a historical setting amidst the ancient ruins of Petra, or a serene wedding at the Dead Sea—the lowest point on earth—Jordan’s diverse landscapes provide breathtaking venues. Couples can expect not only these stunning backdrops but also exceptional hospitality, exquisite cuisine, and luxurious accommodations, ensuring an unforgettable experience for them and their guests", adds Mr. Fayez.
Earlier this year, we interviewed Mr. Hamza Haj Hassan, Deputy Chief Commissioner, Commissioner for Economy and Tourism at ASEZA to uncover the enchanting allure of Aqaba as a premier wedding destination, exploring the reasons why it is set to become a prime wedding destination in the Middle East.
"Aqaba is still a unique and virgin destination for destination weddings. Its ideal weather throughout the year, coupled with amazing backdrops of the Red Sea and Aqaba mountains provide picturesque settings for weddings. Aqaba is still an untapped market for destination weddings, and will be able to provide exceptional venues, service, and memories for newlyweds," said Mr. Haj Hassan.
Nestled at the southernmost tip of Jordan, Aqaba provides a delightful contrast to the bustling energy of Amman. This charming coastal city offers a serene escape with its sun-kissed beaches and crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea. Aqaba is a haven for water enthusiasts with its vibrant coral reefs, marine life, and thrilling water sports adventures. Aqaba boasts a rich tapestry of history and culture offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the imposing Aqaba Fort (a 16th-century Mamluk fortress), or wander through the ancient ruins of Ayla (an Islamic city dating back to the 7th century).
Aqaba's strategic location makes it an excellent base for exploring Jordan's iconic treasures, namely Petra and Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum is just under an hour away from Aqaba, while Petra is attainable in an hour and a half.
"Jordan's Golden Triangle—encompassing the iconic destinations of Aqaba, Petra, and Wadi Rum—offers a truly magical setting for a three-day wedding celebration unlike any other," said Samar Shawareb, Founder/CEO of Arabia Weddings. "Picture this: a pre-wedding welcome party amidst the breathtaking desert wilderness of Wadi Rum, followed by an unforgettable ceremony in front of Petra's majestic Treasury, a 3,000-year-old Nabataean marvel. Then, on the third day, a vibrant beach party on Aqaba's sun-kissed shores. This unique combination of experiences is simply unparalleled," added Samar Shawareb.
