Breaking The Rules: A Desert Wedding Photo Shoot
If you're looking for an innovative wedding idea, you will fall in love with this styled photoshoot by Destination Wedding Planners The Wedding Haven.
The Wedding Haven and the talented Bernie and Bindi from Bernie and Bindi Photography decided to put together a photoshoot that reflected the beauty that Dubai has to offer.
"I wanted a bridal photoshoot that was non-traditional, yet elegant. So I came up with the idea of “breaking the rules” using a black wedding dress. Yes, yes, the idea came as a shock to many people who couldn’t wrap their heads around the fact that a black wedding dress could be as breathtaking as a traditional white and/or ivory dress if and when accessorized properly – and we did just that with the help of a super-talented team of suppliers," May Halasa, owner of The Wedding Haven explained.
The Bridal Look:
May chose two dresses for the photoshoot, both designed by Sara Mansour, a young Jordanian fashion designer, and illustrator.
For the first look, the bride wore a long embroidered black tulle dress, with laser cut embroidered lace. For the second look, the bride wore an embroidered off-the-shoulder white dress, complemented with flower appliques.
To complete the look, jewelry designer Dalia Hamdallah owner of D Jewellery, provided some of her designs to complement the bridal look.

The makeup offered understated glamour, with the help of makeup artist Melissa from Makeup by Base Studio; the makeup was kept simple and minimal.
Hairstylist Steve Wahab styled the model's hair in a soft romantic high ponytail with a side braid.
We topped off the second look with a fingertip length veil, with lace embroidery provided by The Bridal Showroom Dubai.
The Wedding Details:
The wedding had some geometric elements, such as geometric menus and place card holders designed by The Wedding Haven, a geometric cake designed by the amazing Ana from Nice Ribbon Atelier. She created a 3-tiered square cake that complimented the clean, minimalist, and non-traditional setting of the shoot.
The centerpieces were black-colored arranged in triangle glass vases.
The flowers for the shoot were provided by Irina from Blossom Tree Dubai, who used hues of blush, white, and greens to create a playful feel.
The tableware, Moroccan lanterns, chairs, and the gold sequin table runner, provided by Party Social, brought it all together.
