Biden’s Granddaughter Naomi Marries in White House Wedding
Naomi Biden, the eldest grandchild of President Biden, and Peter Neal got married in a private ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington DC.
Naomi Biden, 28 years old, is a lawyer who practices in Washington. Her parents are Hunter Biden, the son of the US President and first lady Jill Biden, and Kathleen Buhle, Hunter’s first wife.
Neal, 25 years old, of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania law school. He works at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington. His parents are Drs. Mary C. and William "Bill" C. Neal of Jackson Hole.
The couple, who has been living at the White House, was set up by a mutual friend about 4 years ago in New York City and have been together ever since the White House said.
Neal proposed in September 2021 near his childhood home in Jackson Hole with a ring that repurposed the band of his grandmother’s engagement ring, according to the White House.
The bride and groom both wore attire designed by Ralph Lauren, according to a person familiar with the event. For her, it was a lacy, long-sleeved ivory gown; for him, a three-piece navy suit.
For her second dress, she slipped into a sleek dress from Lebanese designer Reem Acra’s namesake label for the reception and cake-cutting ceremony. The ivory Mikado silk gown created by Beirut-born Reem Acra came with a delicate strapless neckline.
A luncheon for the family and wedding party was held in the White House immediately after the South Lawn ceremony, followed by a black-tie evening reception with dessert and dancing.
