2024 Wedding Stationery Trends: A Cultural Affair
In the world of weddings, every detail matters, and this love affair with details and personalization starts with each couple’s wedding stationery.
With 2024 just around the corner, now is the perfect time to embark on a journey through the latest in the world of wedding stationery and explore what wedding stationery trends promise to set the stage for memorable cultural weddings in 2024, all over the world.
Vaishali Shah, owner of Dubai-based Ananya Cards, shared her expert opinion on 2024 wedding stationery trends, from deep, vibrant colors to personalized illustrations and eco-friendly invitations. It's all laid out below.
Deep, Vibrant Colors and Cultural Motifs
Cultural weddings are a beautiful tapestry of traditions, and wedding stationery reflects this rich diversity. We’re seeing more couples exploring vibrant colors like deep reds, rich golds, bright pinks, and lush greens within their palette, with a good dose of sophisticated tones like blue and purple too. There’s also been a return to more retro palettes like pale vintage yellows, baby blues, and black and white monochrome details. Everything from fonts to florals is getting less minimalist and more bold, and we’re here for it.
We love this intersection of tradition and modernity, and never more so than when couples ask us to celebrate their cultural heritage by weaving motifs, henna designs, paisley patterns, and mandalas, into their contemporary invitation design.
Eco-Friendly Choices
We’re delighted to see that 2024 brings an even more heightened awareness of sustainability. Couples are choosing eco-friendly stationery options, from recycled paper to plantable invitations embedded with seeds. More and more of our clients are expressing their desire to make a positive impact on the environment while joyfully announcing and decorating their wedding celebrations in a personal way.
Just as they are looking for sustainable fashion choices for their wedding attire, couples are searching for ethically sourced materials, eco-conscious processes, and partnerships with vendors who share in their mission to leave as little a trace on this planet as we can.

Personalised Monograms and Illustrations
Personalization continues to take center stage, and in particular, we’re seeing monograms making a comeback in a big way. Couples are incorporating their initials or personalized crests into their stationery, adding a touch of elegance and exclusivity to their invitations. We’ve even had couples commission bespoke taglines and phrases, which we’ve then shared with tailors and seamstresses to have these designs embroidered in their outfits or accessories. We’re particularly fond of romantic vows embroidered into delicate tulle gloves or love notes embroidered into bridal hair bows!
From custom portraits of the couple to hand-drawn or hand-painted illustrations and fonts, we’re seeing that bespoke artwork is something couples are loving at the moment as a way of elevating their wedding stationery. Couples are enjoying quirky fonts, hand-lettered designs, unique typography, and playful calligraphy. Miniature illustrations have been requested as a way of infusing the couple’s story, personality, culture, or chosen wedding destination into every piece of stationery.
Technology Meets Tradition
As our lives become increasingly digital and tech-infused, of course, so does wedding stationery! We’re seeing a beautiful coming together of technology and tradition in the realm of wedding stationery at the moment, with digital invitations, digital signage, and captivating social media-inspired animations on the rise.
Additionally, the use of QR codes has become a trendy way to connect guests with wedding websites and other digital resources, offering a convenient and interactive experience. Paperless options are definitely gaining popularity, with digital RSVPs being not only a convenient option but also an eco-friendly one.
Our couples are embracing online tools to manage guest lists and responses efficiently and to make their wedding planning journey more seamless—for both them and their guests! We’ve also seen augmented reality take wedding stationery to the next level, with couples asking us to incorporate AR elements into their invitations. With this new technology, guests can use their phones to unlock hidden messages, videos, and interactive experiences, adding an element of surprise and delight.
Destination Aesthetics & Multi-Day Stationery
As couples seek inspiration from their favorite travel destinations, wedding invitations are transformed into gateways to the world. They might conjure the enchantment of a French countryside celebration or the allure of a Moroccan soirée. The possibilities are limitless! We adore working with couples who are as passionate about travel as we are and finding unique and unexpected ways to ensure that their stationery truly is a first peek into the international experience to which they will be treating their loved ones.
Additionally, with the rising popularity of destination weddings, a new trend is emerging: multi-day stationery. This trend caters to each event within the wedding celebration, offering bespoke stationery for every occasion, such as welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, activities, luxury tourism, and farewell pool parties. Telling a multiple-day wedding story can actually start with the invitation elements themselves, such as the addition of bespoke maps, weekend itineraries, accommodations or directions, and lots more.
