Indian Destination Weddings Head To Turkey
At least 15 Indian destination weddings were held so far this year in Turkey, which is preparing to see this number double in 2020 generating over $100 million in revenue.
Turkey’s popularity as a wedding destination soared in recent years with increasing numbers of couples from Europe, the Middle East, India and further afield interested in what Turkish cities, its beautiful venues and beaches, Turkish cuisine, and the full Turkish experience have to offer.
The resort cities of Antalya and Bodrum, as well as, Istanbul are among the popular wedding destinations in Turkey. Dorak Holding Co-Chairman AhmetSerdarKorukcusaid that it is becoming prestigious for wealthy Indian families to have weddings in Turkey. The most affordable Indian wedding cost $1.5million, includes 500 to 600 guests, lasts at least 3 days and includes many different celebrations and events he noted. “We organized the most expensive Indian wedding ever in Turkey, which amounted to about $8 million. In 2020 we will have a similar wedding organized in Istanbul with a budget of $6 million”, said AhmetSerdarKorukcu.

High profile venues for Indian weddings in Istanbul include Cirigan Palace Kempinski, the Four Seasons, Sait Halim Pasha Mansion, and The Marmara Esma Sultan, in addition to, some venues on the Bosporus.
